A Foundation of Integrity
David DuVall Douglas graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 with a BS in Business Administration.
Mr. Douglas is the President and sole stockholder of Douglas Development, a South Carolina based developer of single-family homes
and multi-family and independent senior apartment communities. Since 1973, Douglas Development has developed approximately 300
single-family homes and over 4,000 senior and multi-family apartment units in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee and
Maryland. To date, total development exceeds $250 million.
Mr. Douglas has been a licensed insurance agent and once owned an independent insurance agency. Currently he is licensed as a residential
homebuilder, licensed general contractor and licensed real estate broker. He is Broker-In-Charge of Douglas Development. Mr. Douglas was
past treasurer of the Greenville Board of Realtors, past president of Greenville Home Builders Association and past director of the
Greenville Urban League. Mr. Douglas served as treasurer on the National Council for Affordable & Rural Housing and served as President
of the South Carolina Chapter of SCARH. Most recently Mr. Douglas served as chairman of the Finance Committee of the SC Governor's
Affordable Home Task Force. Mr. Douglas received the 2001 March of Dimes Horry County Real Estate of the Year Award. He is married to
the former Christy Holliday of Galivants Ferry, SC, and they have 3 children - David, Russell and Holly.
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Douglas has developed and constructed numerous apartment communities through Section 42 Tax Credit program
through the housing finance agencies of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Maryland. No defaults within the Low Income
Housing Tax Credit program or similar other adverse circumstances have occurred in any of the projects with which Mr. Douglas is associated.
A Legacy of Community Concern
For over a quarter century, Douglas Development has emerged as a leader in the development of market rate housing at an affordable price
as well as adaptive re-use of historic or abandoned buildings. These communities offer work force housing at an affordable price for
individuals such as teachers, fireman, seniors and newly married couples. Working with community leaders, Douglas Development has
assisted in eliminating affordable housing shortages and the problems associated with abandoned structures.
